Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
When you look in the mirror, what do you see? Do you see someone that is intellectual, funny, has a gorgeous smile, drop-dead blue eyes and the perfect curvy figure? Probably not. Most likely you wish something was different about you. Possibly physically… Straighter teeth? Skinnier body? Longer legs? Or maybe you would change something about your personality… Smarter? Funnier? More outgoing? I’m sure we would all change at least one thing about ourselves.
Society tells us what to look like, how to act, what to wear, etc. We can’t turn on the television or open a magazine without the world pushing us towards being the “ideal” woman or the “ideal” man. And no matter how hard we try, we’ll never live up to their expectations. But the thing is, God doesn’t want us to and we shouldn’t want to either.
