Just a quick thought…

Many times when we speak with God, we are asking for something. God, please do this or can you help me with this? What if we changed the way we spoke with God? Instead of asking for the things God can offer us, what if we simply just asked for more of Him? In the book, “It’s Not About Me” by Max Lucado he says, “When our deepest desire is not the things of God, or a favor from God, but God himself, we cross a threshold.” Our prayers end up becoming less self-focused and more God-focused.

When we make this transition, we are able to develop a stronger relationship with God. We start asking to be shown His radiance; to see more of His glory. When this happens we realize that we cannot live without God and our lives become more God-centered. Less about me, more about Him.
